Benzoville Introduces Mestre’s Artistic Spanish Hardware to India’s Luxury Design Market

In a development that reflects the growing emphasis on detail-led design in India’s premium interiors segment, Benzoville has brought the handcrafted hardware collection of Spanish brand Mestre to India. The move underscores a broader shift in architecture and interior design, where hardware is increasingly being positioned as a key contributor to the overall aesthetic narrative of a space.

Traditionally viewed as a functional necessity, fittings such as door handles and bathroom fixtures are now being reimagined as design statements. With this launch, Benzoville introduces a collection that aligns with this evolving approach where materiality, craftsmanship, and detailing play a central role in defining luxury environments.

Established in Valencia in 1952, Mestre has developed a global presence across more than 50 countries, with a reputation for creating intricately detailed, handcrafted pieces. Its offerings often described as “fine jewellery for bathrooms” are known for combining traditional artisanal techniques with rare materials.

The collection introduced in India includes a range of door hardware, bathroom fittings, and accessories, each crafted by skilled artisans. Distinctive features include the use of semi-precious stones such as quartz, tiger’s eye, malachite, and lapis lazuli, alongside Swarovski crystals and 24-carat gold plating. These elements lend the products a sculptural and tactile quality, positioning them beyond conventional hardware categories.

Industry observers note that such offerings respond to a rising demand among clients for bespoke, globally influenced interiors. As luxury residential and hospitality projects increasingly prioritise uniqueness and layered design narratives, curated elements like handcrafted fittings are gaining prominence.

For architects and interior designers, the introduction of Mestre’s collection expands the palette of detailing options. These pieces can function as subtle focal points within a space, contributing to a more cohesive and immersive design experience—whether in contemporary or classical settings.

The launch also marks a strategic expansion for Benzoville, which has built its presence in India’s premium door hardware segment over the past four decades. Through its Benzoville Bath vertical, the brand is extending its portfolio to include high-end bathroom fittings, aiming to provide a more integrated offering for design professionals.

Commenting on the development, Akshat Bansal, Director at Benzoville, said that the collection allows designers to “treat hardware as an extension of their creative expression,” adding depth and individuality to spaces.

As India’s luxury design market continues to mature, the introduction of globally recognised, craftsmanship-driven brands such as Mestre points to a future where even the smallest elements are expected to carry design intent reinforcing the idea that in contemporary architecture, detail is not peripheral, but central to the experience of space.
